Biographical - Lifeline:

1920Born January 23 in Spalding, Lincolnshire, England; early childhood in India with family. Early studies in Lincolnshire, in engineering.
1939Military service in the Royal Field Artillery and on General Staff, northern Europe, Africa, and the Near East.
1947Art studies in Sculpture at the Anglo-French Art Center, Chelsea School of Art, the Royal College of Art, London.
1957Teacher of three dimensional design, Kingston School of Art; furniture and jewelry design and production, A&R Duckworth Associates, Ltd., London.
1965Visiting professor of sculpture, University of Illinios; Chicago Circle; Head of Sculpture, Syracuse University.
1968Freelance writer and painter, San Francisco.
1970Chair of Fine Art, University of Natal, South Africa.
1972Studies for Ph.D., Ohio State University.
1973Professor, Chairman of Art Department, University of South Dakota.
1976Cornish, New Hampshire studio art center for people over college age at "Mastlands."
1977Plainfield (Meriden), studio art classes in the former public school house, now also Duckworth residence.
