DINNER AT THE MUSEUM

BENEFIT FOR THE AIDRON DUCKWORTH ART MUSEUM

Guest Speaker Steve Taylor

In Three Quarters of a Century, How Plainfield Changed

Wednesday, October 18, 2017

5:30pm

Dinner at the Museum, an annual benefit event for the Aidron Duckworth Art Museum, welcomes Guest Speaker Steve Taylor. Taylor is an independent scholar, farmer, journalist, and longtime public official. With his sons, Taylor operates a dairy, maple syrup, and cheese making enterprise in Meriden Village, known as Taylor Brothers Farm. He has been a newspaper reporter and editor, and served for 25 years as New Hampshire’s commissioner of agriculture. Taylor was the founding Executive Director of the New Hampshire Humanities Council and considers himself a lifelong student of New Hampshire’s rural culture.

In an interview with New Hampshire Public Radio, Steve Taylor shared that the Plainfield – Meriden – Cornish community is his favorite part of New Hampshire. “It has a wonderfully diverse mix of people who are committed to maintaining local institutions, traditions, culture; it’s a safe place, a friendly place, and it’s where my roots are” said Taylor.

This special evening at the Aidron Duckworth Art Museum, with Taylor presenting “In Three Quarters of a Century, How Plainfield Changed”, will benefit the museum. A buffet supper and live music will follow the talk, catered generously by the Duckworth Museum Trustees and Advisors.
